
Fátima Hernández
Fátima Hernández is a Mexican violinist and performer with a diverse musical background spanning classical, historical, and traditional music. Born in San Luis Potosí, México, she holds a Bachelor’s degree in modern violin from Universidad Veracruzana and later specialized in baroque violin at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam, studying with Shunske Sato and Sayuri Yamagata.
Her artistic path blends her passion for early music with a solid foundation in modern performance. She has performed at international festivals across Europe and the Americas, including the Internationale Bachakademie Stuttgart, FEMUSC, and the Jeune Orchestre de l’Abbaye aux Dames.

Fátima has collaborated with ensembles such as the Nieuwe Philharmonie Utrecht, New Dutch Academy, Concentus Harmonicus, and the Boca del Río Philharmonic Orchestra (2016–2021). Her work also includes Mexican folk music with Zorzal Son Huasteco Trio, the violin-piano duo Lapislázuli, and the mariachi ensemble Tierra Caliente.

Recipient of several scholarships including PECDA SLP in Mexico, and the Amsterdam University of the Arts Talent Grant in the Netherlands, Fátima continues to build a dynamic career across genres and borders. In 2025, she became the conductor of the amateur orchestra Barock Sommer.
