Lapislazuli

Lapislazuli is a violin and piano duo integrated by the Mexican violinist Fátima Hernández and the Spanish keyboardist Isabel Negrín. We started the ensemble in December 2023, playing together with the Gemengd Koor in Broek in Waterland. The strong and extroverted personality of these two women who are also multi instrument players (harpsichord, piano, violin, baroque violin, singing, etc.) brings a different performance to the stage. What it seems to be a normal classical concert develops into a colorful and unforgettable presentation. Our versatile and open-minded musicality adapts to different genres of music, willing to explore less unknown territories, having as a result in beautiful, meaningful and aesthetic programs like Concierto Iberico, where we not only play our instruments but also sing.

Concierto Poético

Concierto Poético is an 80 minute program of classical original and traditional arrangements of Spanish and Mexican music from the 19th and 20th centuries for violin, piano and voice. Our duo has built a musical journey with music of Manuel De Falla, Enrique Granados, Ricardo Castro and Isaac Albeniz together with the poetry of Federico Garcia Lorca and Amado Nervo, and traditional songs from both countries. All these artists contributed to spreading the richness of Hispanic culture through their music and poetry on international stages, reinforcing a distinct cultural identity in the face of foreign influences. They lived and created during a period of cultural effervescence at a time marked by cultural nationalism and a desire for artistic renewal in Spain and Latin America.  The objective is to show the Spanish and Mexican music and poetry that is not commonly played and sung in this country, trying to connect with people, crossing language barriers through music. Even the lyrics of the songs are in Spanish, the music is made for anyone who wants to join this journey.
